The Delusionist: Leaving Some Room for Grace
I can sometimes be a snob. In fact, I can sometimes be a snob of snobs. And I’m a weird snob, at that. I’m not a snob in that I only listen to classical music and go to the opera. I’m not even really a snob who only listens to the latest indie bands and sees the artsiest movies. In fact those…
Hey, I’ll Pray For You!
A post from ExFake.com
The other day I was sitting back and watching as people posted to twitter. I was struck by how many people had prayer requests. Maybe I was noticing it more since reading this post on our blog the other day. I had prayed for each person that commented on that post and for the people that tweeted their prayer requests, but on that night it seemed like there was a lot of pain. I know there’s ALWAYS pain in the world and that’s nothing new – but on this night it just kind of…hit me……….
Pics from Thanksgiving.
This year we went down to Atlanta to hang with the family for Thanksgiving. Here are a few pictures from that trip.
Sweet, Sweet Sound
This song has been great comfort to me today.
Sweet, Sweet Sound by The Unseen Glory. You can listen to it here.
Oh Lord, come whisper to me in my sleep
Come pour Yourself out over me
Will You draw near?
Oh Lord, You’re calling me back to your heart
Restoring the innocence lost
Will You draw near? I pray
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Oh Lord, remember Your call to Your own
Remember Your promise to come
Will you draw near?
So come pour Your life, oh, this offering all over me
Come with Your grace that is cleansing and restoring me
Come with Your angels, cover the earth
And hear Your people sing of Your worth
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
And it’s Your voice I hear calling my name
And it’s Your grace that pours out like the rain
And it’s Your hand that erases my shame
And it’s Your word that is everlasting
We lift our voice to You
A sweet, sweet sound in Your ear Jesus, Jesus
We raise our voice to You
With one sound to You we rejoice
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound

No, he really didn’t want to take this shot. It was at the end of the “shoot” and he was ready to go get some dinner. But… I love the look on his face.

Meet the Dog - Elsie (Harlequin Great Dane)
She is one of the friendliest & cuddliest dogs ever. She’s over 120lbs but wants to be on your lap.
In this shot my wife was getting ready to go out - Elsie was laying on our bed, as she usually is, watching my wife get ready. Elsie will follow my wife everywhere she goes around the house.
We live in a time when forgiveness is rarely given. It’s almost always said, “I forgive you.” but never makes it to the heart.
We want to be mad at those that have hurt us.
We deserve to hold onto that anger, don’t we? If we forgive - I mean truly forgive in our hearts - then doesn’t the offender win?
If any of that is true….then the cross has no meaning. Jesus death on the cross, which is for the FORGIVENESS of YOUR sins, is meaningless.
Your mom, dad, brother, friend, boyfriend, wife, husband, or maybe a complete stranger may have done something horrible to you……holding onto it gives them a hold on the rest of your life.
Forgive.
Give them a second chance.
Rip Curl and TimeSlice Films filmed surfers riding real waves with 30 GoPro HD cameras and created an effect very similar to the Bullet Time sequences in The Matrix. It’s jaw droppingly awesome.
